The problem with English and just about every other language is that everyone has a different idea of how English is pronounced. Symphonic Choirs is a REAL choir, the Ooo sample, is a real choir singing Ooo. It may use samples, but utilizes computer modeling in order to emulate the shapes of a human voice. It would not be competing with their product, as it is a completely different kind of sample library, choir vs. They have obviously put a lot of work into that at Yamaha, and have done better in that regard. Then you would not need to re-invent the wheel.

I wonder if EWQL could actually license from Yamaha some of the technology used in Vocaloid-of course not the sampled voices, but the English-to-phoneme translation technology.
(I think they still have a demo version-not sure though.) (An idea just occurred to me, although I don't know if it is at all possible. It is possible to do it better-just try out Vocaloid. Therefore, I sincerely hope that EWQL is working on improving the user interface to WB, making it more user-friendly, not requiring as much time mastering Votox, etc., but more able to translate from the actual input language. That fact that some here have put in a lot of time on it and mastered Votox (congrats to them!), doesn't change the fact that its difficulty probably turns off many potential users. Once again-hopefully more languages, in the future.) So yes-one can get wonderful results with SC-WB, but the immense amount of time required tweaking each vowel and consonant, probably puts off many users from using it. (There are also Japanese Vocaloid voices. And, I assume that Vocaloid 2 is still much better. Yes, it requires some tweaking afterwards, but not nearly as much as with WB. In Vocaloid 1 you can type in English words, and the resulting vocal part is not bad, sounds pretty close to actual (American) English speech. Yet comparable in the sense that these are two of a handful of programs that attempt to synthesize the human voice singing, including singing words.

Vocaloid™ 3 Editor is the basic software application for desktop. The tool now comprehensively lists English. The site has been updated to reflect recent VOCALOID releases and the availability of more voicebanks. (There is now a new version, Vocaloid 2, with a singer called Prima, which is supposed to be much better, but I have not tried that yet.) Not a comparable library, as it has individual singers sampled, not choirs. (Hopefully, eventually in more languages, not just English.) For instance, has anyone here tried the Yamaha-Zero-G product, Vocaloid? I tried the old version, Vocaloid 1, with the singer Miriam. Certainly, it could never be perfect, and some human tweaking of the phonemes will be necessary.īut I think it could do a lot better in that regard, than it does now. (I would bet that there are many people, who spent a lot of money on this product, yet rarely use it, as it is so difficult to use.) I really think that they should improve the English-Votox translation, so that one can type in English text, and a reasonable approximation of that language will be sung by the program. Well-learning to use Votox is EXTREMELY time-consuming, which probably prevents many people from using the product.

Unfortunately, it is one of those, trial and error deals, but eventually you'll start memorizing tricks and shortcuts. Wordbuilder is very tricky, especially with dipthongs. You can save words or phrases that you use often, but I find the process of doing the words over each time I need them faster than figuring out where my phrase that i saved was.
